    Bali- Canggu & Bingin Beach

    The foodie edition

Hack’s tours were back….. this time with a little more rnr and eating our way through most of honeycombers’ food guide! We stayed in very easy walking access to all of the good spots and we really made a great attempt at eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner…….

    Gypsy Kitchen & Bar

    Dinner # 1
Platter to start: DELICIOUS bubba ganoush!
    Fish curry
    Baked cauliflower wih tempeh
    7/10

    The Avocado Factory

    Breakfast # 1
Amazing toats options: avo, beacon, hummus,tomatoes…..all the best really!
green juice, TURMERIC late & coffee were all great.
    8/10

    Faraway Sports Bar & Grill

2019 is a very important rugby year! The Rugby World Cup is not an event that can be missed, even on holiday! Luckily this great bar offers cheap Bintangs and a very funny vibe. Don’t be surprised if you bump into Tony Veitch…… James and Frankie had an interesting experience there.

    The Lawn Beach Club

    Pre dinner drinks
A very popular spot! Booking could be a good idea.
The coco lemon gin is insane! A very well deserved 10/10. We also tired the pimms & medu but the coco was the winner.
They also have a great food menu- sweet potato chips & CEVICHE were pretty good too.
we went back and would highly recommend paying extra for the beach loungers to really enjoy the sunset. Get there before 5:30pm to make the most of the cocktails!

    The Common Cafe

    Dinner # 2
a GOOD MIX of vegetarian, vegan and meat options.
James enjoyed the burger & i had the salmon & veges.
a carrot cake and snickers cheesecake was the perfect ending….it was so hard to pick with all of the amazing options!
    7/10

    Milk & Madu

    Breakfast #2
    great coffee & chai lates.
    smoothie bowls & breakfast burritos!
    8.5/10

    Desi Seni

A change from all the eating, reading and swimming we went to Desi Seni Resort after breakfast. I had booked a private restorative session and we both enjoyed a beautiful massage after. I really enjoyed the yoga, you gain so much with a one-on-one session.
Definitely worth a visit to unwind, I would also recommend staying for lunch as apparently the food at the cafe is really great…..a big regret not doing this!

    Potato Head Beach Club

Pre dinner drinks & late lunch
this needs to be on everyones list. The interior is stunning which only adds to the funky vibe.
Quirky cocktails, great pizza, sweet potato and vege options.
We were luck enough to enjoy this spot with SOME FRIENDS.
Top Tip: go there for an afternoon and sunset.

We were far to nervous to hire scooters and I’m very happy we didn’t. The roads are a very interesting and busy place in Bali!

The taxi service is super cheap and probably a little safer……

    Shady Shack

    Dinner #3
wow this was definitely the fav spot.
    Another great platter followed by….
an incredible eggplant lasagne, jackfruit tacos and of course dessert.
The snickers bar and caramel apple pie were too good.
It is a spot you need to go to again as the menu has so many goodies!
    10/10 for sure!

    The Loft

    Breakfast # 3
All the toast options plus a delightful big breakfast. The avo was super fresh and the coffee complemented perfectly.
most places have really good milk alternatives as well.
    7/10

If you’re in need of a good haircut……like I desperately was Hair Bali is the spot!

I was really nervous about getting a haircut in Singapore and even more so in Bali, but there was no need to stress. They were super friendly and made the perfect cut!

    The Crate Cafe (Life’s Create)

    Proper Lunch # 1
this is a very trendy and popular spot. there are massive sharing tables and also a more 70’s style with some couches to sit back, relax and eat. a massive menu to choose from with the classic fast-food ordering system of lining up.
James enjoyed a vegan pie and i had a huge salad and cacao smoothie (very generous portions).
    8.5/10
There are plenty of boutique stores around, so i highly recommend braving the walk along thek busy street

    Mexican-Lacalita Bar Y Cocina

    Dinner #4
a classic mexican place with great taco and MARGARITA options.
I think the reviews really talked this place up and our expectation were high…..it was pretty good but not canggu’s best food spot.
we shared tacos and some veges!
    6/10

    Betelenut Cafe

    Breakfast # 4
a quaint spot with a tree house vibe.
the menu has options to try a sweet, SAVOURY and juice breakfast option. i was a little boring and stuck to the avo on sourdough, while james went for the breakfast burrito. really yummy! would have to rate the avo over THE LOFT
    7.5/10

The road to Bingin in Uluwatu

If you are traveling my car anywhere in Bali expect it to take a bit of time. The traffic is crazy with random road works and very narrow roads to maneuver through it took us around 2 hours to get there. However despite the traffic the cost to get there is next to nothing!

    Cashew Tree

Breakfast, lunch & dinner MULTIPLE TIMES!
this beautiful courtyard based restaurant is far too good. We stayed in a beautiful villa just a 30second walk away so as you can imagine we went there a lot.
the food is incredible; plenty of smoothies, salads, burgers, bowls, avo and roast veges to choose from.
I don’t think i could pick a favourite dish it was all too good.
there is a really lovely boutique store which is worth a look through, along with a gym with a range of classes.
    9.9/10 for sure!!!

    Kelly’s Waring

Perfect spot for a sunset drink and also a good bite to eat.
This is the sister cafe of the cashew tree so the menu is packed with all the goodies.
There is a great little deck to sit back and admire the beach/sunset with a few drinks.
MAKE SURE you get there in time to pick a good spot, or if time gets away from you you can enjoy their drinks on the beach!

    Drifters

    Lunch!
A good walk up the hill (about 15 minutes) is an a surf shop with a cafe attached. The hike is totally worth it!
There is a great variety of vegan, vego and also meat options to enjoy.
    9/10.
