  • Exploring San Pedro

We stayed at Hostel Pablito which was perfect! It came with breakfast and they were very accommodating with breakfast times to ensure you were fed before any tours.

    Valle de la Luna

The main reason for coming to San Pedro is to explore the beautiful surroundings. Being in the dessert, there are a number of things to go and visit. Our first activity was to hire bikes and ride out to the Lunar De valle (Moon valley). This came highly recommended and didn’t disappoint! Bike hire costs 3000 CLP for 6 hours, which was more than enough time. Make sure you check the bikes are in good condition and they give you a pump, spare tube, helmet, etc. Getting there is fairly straight forward if you have a town map. It takes about 30 mins to get to the start of the Lunar De valle, where you pay 2500 CLP. Make sure you get there before you 1pm, as it closes to the public after this. The scenery is literally breath taking. There are some hills, but well worth the trip. We got plenty of great photos and enjoyed the stunning views. The ride back was a lot easier as well!

We used Flamingo tours for the astrology and lagoon tours.

    Star gazing tour

At 8:00pm we gathered to meet our star gazing tour guide. Lassie was incredibly knowledge. Not only did he speak 3 languages we knew a lot about astrology! Due to the incredibly low humidity and light pollution San Pedro me the best place to star gaze.We had closer look at the star formations through the telescopes but all agreed it was more impressive through the naked eye. The snaks and wine/tea option adds to the experience and definitely helps to keep you warm!

    Lagoon Tour

    Laguna Cejar and Laguna Piedra,

After a leisurely morning of eating swimming and collecting laundry we went on our second flamingo tour! We absolutely loved this tour. There was the perfect amount of travel, listening and having your own time to explore. The final destination called for a float in the salt lagoon followed by the famous pisco sours and enjoying the sun setting.
