At 6:30am we were picked up by the Bolivia hop bus. After traveling for about 2 hours we stopped at a little place for hot coffee and some breakfast (not included in bus ticket).
Once we were coffee fueled we travelled another hour or so to a small little village where we crossed by ferry to San Pedro De Tiquina before heading to Copacabana. The bus also travelled by ferry which was a little nerve racking to watch!
Copacabana
A very interesting and vibrant little village. We weren’t sure whether there was a festival or holiday as people were definitely celebrating with a few beers!

Lunch: Costazul (mexican place on the corner)
Little Mexican place for lunch 6/10 ⭐️
Isla de Sol
A ferry took us across Lake Titicaca to this beautiful island about an hour from Copacabana. This place has original Incan ruins making it a very spiritual and historic place.
Top Tip:
Be careful when taking photos of children, they will harass you for money!
We had an hour to walk up and across this island. If you have time I would recommend staying for a night in one the Eco Lodges as they look great and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from with breathtaking views over the water.
When catching the ferry back only sit up the top of the boat if you have plenty of warm layers!
Crossing the border to Peru
Straight after our return from Isla de Sol we got back on our bus and arrived at the Bolivian/Peru border. A Seamless process- only if you have amazing guides like we did! I had lost my Bolivian entry paper which would have been quite an issue, however our guide went with me and talked to the migration officers and there was no drama! A quick walk across the border before you enter another office in Peru to receive your stamp. Now there was a bit of pressure and stress on my part as James was very keen to rush through and get the best seats on the overnight bus. Well all the stress was worth it as we got seats down the bottom of the bus which meant we had a lot more space and oils almost fully recline!
Top Tip:
Definitely follow James’ idea of rushing through as this meant we actually got a semi-decent and comfortable sleep.

We HIGHLY recommend using Bolivia Hop. It was so well organised, we stopped for dinner in a town called Puno around 8:00pm before the 10 hour commute to Cusco. Once we arrived in Cusco at 5:30am they had already organised taxis for us and we arrived safely at The Principe III.
