La Paz

After a very long journey to La Paz we had two days to rest…. and eat

In saying that, the overnight bus was a huge success!

The Higher Ground Cafe

A first on the list was finding great places to eat. This place was DELICIOUS. James so far quoted it as the meal of the trip. 9/10 ๐Ÿ’ซ and the added bonus of great coffee!

After a very cruise day one we continued with this and a later start meant we were ready to explore the city. We were amazed at how big this city was and decided a walk up to a high vantage point would really show off the scenery. Jamesโ€™ friend Paddy was in town so we arranged to meet him at a lookout point.

Top Tip:

BE CAREFUL OF THE SNEAKY STAIRS, YOU MAY THINK THEY ARE A SHORTCUT BUT THEY OFTEN LEAD YOU OFF THE MAP!

The Famous Cable Car

This is the BEST way to see the whole city. There are several lines to choose from and they all connect easily making this a very efficient and enjoyable. After getting a little lost finding the station (refer to the top tip) we started on the orange line. Costing only 3 Bolivianos (approx 50c) for each line we continued onto the red, blue, yellow and the final blue line to get back into the main part of town. HIGHLY recommend the scenery is breathtaking and you really are able to see everything!

Lunch: La Cueva

GREAT SPOT FOR GOOD MEXICAN. 8/10 ๐ŸŒŸ YUMMY BEERS, GUAC, TACOS & QUESADILLAS

Another food place…. Namas Te

Really yummy vegan and vegetarian food. We only had snacks but rate it a 8/10 ๐ŸŒŸ

Shoe buffer in disguise

Fun Fact from Paddy:

THE SHOE CLEANERS WEAR A FULL MASK COVERING THEIR FACE. THIS IS BECAUSE THIS IS THE LOWST JOB AND THEY WANT TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS!

We only spent 2 days relaxing in this busy city. But there is SO much to do especially if you are very adventurous and enjoy taking a risk!
