After a fantastic early check-in we enjoyed breakfast before heading into the main square. I was blow away with the historic charm of this city. I think it might be my favourite city on tour so far.
La Rabora 🌟is a divine cafe to stop at with a range of vegan and veg options to enjoy. we only had a coffee and matcha but plan on revisiting.
Magnificent Cathedrals surround the main square showing the deep historic and religious roots of Cusco. We went into the Temple of the Society of Jesus. It was well worth the 10SOL entry as the artwork, Altarpieces and sculptures were beautiful. The Altarpiece stands at an impressive 21 meters tall and 12 meters wide, all of which is made from gold leaf! There are 16 other sculptures and paintings to enjoy. I couldn’t take any photos as you are not allowed, in a way this makes you really take the time to appreciate the beauty.
Top Tip:
The salkantay trekking company are amazing to work with. We had booked a 4 day 3 night treck but unfortunately i got sick. They helped us re-arrange a shortened day trip instead.
There are plenty of outdoor, souvineer and charming boutique stores to enjoy. We were desperate for some warmer clothes after suffering in the Salar! Renting a warm jacket and pants was our first choice, but after trying them on they were a bit smelly and dirty, they would be absolutely fine but I can be a bit of a princess. So we bought a jacket and socks from Andes Gear (sales were great) and plan to hire boots and walking poles.

This was my favourite place so far! Organic produce and a variety of meals to choose from. We had the chicken and goats cheese salad, both of which were divine!
