Lisa’s Tours started around 10am on day 2! My cousin Bel joined us on a little art tour of Chelsea and the High-line. First stop was the Whitney, and it was a very charming walk through Chelsea (after taking the train of course) to get there with great boutique cafes and stores to enjoy along the way. This was day one of the Biennial exhibition for 2019 and even better we were there on a Monday so there weren’t many people there to hustle with. The exhibition was the perfect eclectic mix of paintings, sculptures, videography and photography spanning over 4 levels. What really makes this museum different is the indoor outdoor flow that feature dramatic sculptures on a deck overlooking an incredible view.

Lunch at Bubby’s was the perfect way to replenish our creative interests. Traditionally known for their cakes, they have a great brunch and lunch menu that offers great fried chicken, salads or pancakes! 8/10 🌟for sure!
The High-line walk is stunning. The garden paves the way and the mix of new skyscrapers and classic brick buildings really emphasises the diverse space. At the end of the walk the newly developed Hudson Yards. The architecture is truly magnificent with the stair sculpture (called the Vessel) and the performing Centre really stating its presence. Once you take a moment to admire the area there is a great opportunity for some retail therapy has all the stores you could dream of!
I think Wholefoods is the best food market I have ever been to! James and I were excited to cook for the evening and we found everything we needed there. The organic produce is super affordable. You can also make your own salads which would make an ideal lunch or picnic!
Day Three
On day three we went on a solo mission with James being the lead tour guide. Soho was the first stop and we really enjoyed a little bit of shopping (yes, even James did). My cousin Tess recommended a food market for lunch. Perfect timing as it was a one day only food event with all the local restaurants making two of their signature dishes. Thankfully they were small portions so we were able to sample quite a few! So yummy 9/10 🌟

Ground Zero. I was speechless when I entered this beautiful area. The memorial water fountains a special tribute to all those who lost their lives and walking around gives you a moment to pay your respect with all their names engraved along the ledges.
Since it was a Tuesday they offer free tickets to the museum after 4pm. The line was really efficient and we were able to get tickets for 5pm. The artifacts in this museum painted a very raw picture of how devastating this day was. There is an incredible arrangement of fire trucks, ambulances, clothing, documents and even remains of the World Trade Centre. I recommend taking some tissues and dedicate a good hour to really go through this space.
The Oculus across the road is an extraordinarily space. There are some great stores (and still more being built) and there is a link to most subway lines which made it an easy journey home.

Fonda for dinner! A funky Mexican place in Brooklyn 7/10 ⭐️
