London

The flight from NYC to London was a breeze. We Arrived at 1:30 am and found an Uber to take us to Brixton where we stayed with Jake and Victoria. We definitely preferred the day time flying as once we arrived in London we went straight to sleep so we could defeat jet lag. Glad to say it worked.

Jimmy & Jimmy’s Tours

Day one was very exciting. After being lucky enough to experience Jimmy’s Tours we had another Jimmy taking us around London. Jimmy Mac came round and we started our tour at Cezala for brunch in Brixton (thanks Jake and Vic for the fab recommendation). A very solid 9/10 🌟

So great to have proper food after a day of plane snacks! Great crepes which catered to special diets.

The London Underground is far more compact than NYC. The smaller trains means you’re squeezing a little more.

TOP TIP: always stay on the right going down escalator as people like to push past in a hurry.

We took the Tube to Victoria station and walked to Buckingham palace. We arrived there at 11am which was the perfect timing for the changing of the guards. I thought there was a massive parade as there were so many people there!

We then walked through st James park and arrived at Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. Unfortunately scaffolding was blocking these iconic structures, luckily we could admire Winston.

There is plenty to see walking around London. We strolled the bridge to London eye and along the river through south bank. A very funky spot for food and drinks. We had walked up quite a thirst and quenched this at the anchor

The famous Borough markets. 7/10 ⭐️ food 8/10 🌟 atmosphere. We shared the Malaysian chicken curry and paella.

I could not even comprehend how old Tower of London and the Tower Bridge were. 1,000 years of history really impresses you with the infrastructure. It’s chilling to know how many people were killed here including Anne Boleyn.

Mercato metropolitano for dinner and a 30th birthday celebration for our tour guide Jimmy! Great variety of food, wine and beer to choose from 8/10 🌟 for the food and 10/10 💫 for the company!

Our Second Day in London

I have had an obsession with Deliciously Ella for years so Breakfast at her deli in Mayfair was an absolute must. I was so so excited and it was so worth the many years of anticipation. The peanut butter smoothie and assortment of salads 9/10 🌟 I’m now obsessed with her bliss balls and Bircher museli…….

The Walk down oxford road is really cool for shopping (we didn’t quite have time for that as time was ticking).

We could have spent hours at Hyde Park and Kensington gardens. This Palace was home to Queen Victoria. Beautiful grounds, fountains, gardens and lakes made it the perfect picnic spot. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw a Whole foods bag. So we immediately raced there for our picnic food

For the first time this trip we parted ways for the afternoon and evening!

I met up with Kate and explored Notting Hill. The best little shops so far! They had the most divine stores but they come with a decent price tag… We went to Pop Brixton for dinner. This place is very lively and there are plenty of food stalls offering ideal dinner options that are easy to eat (there weren’t a lot of free seats!)

James went back to Brixton for a beer at the Duke of Edinburgh garden bar then Happy dumpling for dinner followed by pop Brixton.

Top Tip:

A whirlwind of a London trip. Ideally you want 3-4 days in London to really explore, but we know we’ll be back to enjoy the rest!
