On the road to Limerick

The camper roadie has begun as we travelled from east to west. We taxied to the Wicked Camper office to pick up our beautiful van.

The van has everything you need. The back folds down into a bed and there is a little utility kitchen in the boot!

Our first stop was at Dunemase Castle. The remains are from the 12th century, the history of Ireland still amazes me. It was a 360 view overlooking lush green paddocks and a small village. It was the perfect view to stop the rain washing over the area and we made it back to our van just in time!

We arrived in Limerick around 4. There were plenty of small supermarkets and health stores to stop at and load up our wee van for breakfast and snack supplies. Adare campground was the pick for the night. It was a 5 minute drive from the village and was a perfect spot with great facilities and plenty of space. James was very keen to do a practice run of the van set-up. After a few attempts it was a game of Tetris with all our possessions. Happy to say he won that game!

After a stroll around the village we had our first pub meal in the village at Aunty Lena’s. I was expecting the traditional stews, burgers and soups and was pleasantly surprised when they had some delicious vege options! For a pub meal a solid 7/10 ⭐️.

It was so lovely and peaceful back at the campgrounds. The sun doesn’t set till around 11pm so we made sure we had our eye masks ready! Thank goodness we had our warm clothes as I needed them all to survive the cold summer nights.

Top Tip:

It really is cold, you need a decent sleeping bag, blanket, puffer jacket & warm socks for the camping night
