Puglia: Part Two

The area we are staying in is surrounded by olive trees which are hundreds of years old. The road leading up to town is heavenly and taking a stroll up to the village for a coffee is a great way to start the day. We are about 3km away and the coffee shop at the end is the ideal resting spot from the incline!

We left at 9am and went to the food markets in Cisternino which is a 30 minute drive. The food is just unbelievable; beautiful fresh fruit, veges and deli selections. I now understand why the Italians eat so well!

Alberobello is where the traditional Trulli houses are. You cannot help but smile and feel like you are in a little fairy tale as you walk up the hill with all the hut-like homes and stores. It was super hot and we definitely needed a cool beverage.

Just out of the village we had lunch at Fidelio. We were very very spoilt with a 14 course antipasto that was demolished! Followed by pasta, salads and mains. The Italian way is to take your time with eating, so things to tend to take a while to come out, which is the whole point!

As I have mentioned the roads in Italy are a major challenge. Jeremy did an incredible maneuvering through the country side! A very lush swim cooled us off followed by fig and wild flower hunting with Livi.

It is so exciting when we have different people preparing us yummy dinner. Emma and Jeremy created some divine dishes, I feel very inspired with their simple yet flavour-full veges.
