After we bid farewell to our lovely Palmento we journeyed across the stunning landscape of Sicily. Our host suggested we take this scenic course to Milazzo which was a series of very winding roads for well over an hour. We did really enjoy this and the stop in Navarro de Sicilia at a market store meant we were ready to enjoy another picnic at the ferry terminal.
Top Tip:
The winding scenic roads are not well suited to people who suffer from car sickness. But they are beautiful!
The ferry to Salina was a very very hot hour and a half. It was packed so its a good idea to get in line early for a good seat and room to store your bag. Our new host organised a taxi to Malfa, our new little spot and was a short 10 minute drive. Being on the water is very refreshing, we have views looking out to Stromboli and Panacera. We explored the stone beach (must have rock shoes) and the little town for our dinner supplies. There are plenty of boutique stores and food stalls providing great variety and local tastes!

We had two days of absolute bliss. Our place was so beautiful and we spent time reading and eating there with little trips into town and the beach. Nights were just as relaxing as the day as we enjoyed cooking at nights and playing cards with a little digestivo (my new favourite).
Top Tip:
Be careful of the jellyfish! They are quite painful when they get you!
We saw small glimpses of lava from Stromboli which was really exciting! We joked about another bigger explosion due……and the day after we left there was quite a serious one! We timed our trip perfectly.
