The amazing Sarah and lovely Lani picked us up from the bus station. We went straight to the Cider Boat for a well overdue gossip. One more stop at a pub before we went home to enjoy a yummy BBQ dinner. Home cooking really is the best, something we really miss traveling.
Day Two
Sarah and Alan (Malan as Sarah calls him) Hodge have a gorgeous home about 15 minutes from Bristol, we are so lucky to be staying with them. After breakfast we drove to Bath which was only 10 minutes from the Hodge’s. Wow the buildings were so stunning, most made from the famous Bath Stone. We went to Sally Lunn’s which was the oldest house in Bath. So so many options to choose from savoury or sweet!

Bath Abbey is a historical site and beautiful to stroll through. After lunch we strolled around and enjoyed the candy and fudge stalls

After taking Lani back to the train station we walked the river side in Bristol. Great to learn the history from Malan as this was where the slaves were brought and then shipped off the the states and other countries.
Yummy yummy dinner at Cargo Cantina. Of course the starter was guacamole and corn chips followed with many tacos, beans and slaw. Very spicy but also delicious 8/10 🌟 great selection of cocktails, wine and beer too!
We absolutely loved our time staying with the Hodge’s. Their two gorgeous girls kept us well entertained and it’s always a great time catching up with old colleagues.
